Wildflower Trip

I’ll take my shots anywhere I can. When I had the opportunity to go to Carrizo Plain Nat’l Monument for a day, I grabbed all the camera gear I could and headed out as early as possible

Taken on my drone. I’m actually in this, on top of the hill, flying this.

This shot was completely spontaneous. I saw it, and something about the framing just clicked with me, so I took it.

I tried capturing the reflections of the hills in the lake but, alas, it didn’t work out as planned. I still love the flowers though.

Again, trying to capture the reflections in the water. Worked a little better here, but still not as crisp as it was in my vision.

A departure from my usual landscapes. I don’t take a lot of macro shots, but sometimes the odd plant catches my eye.

This was an odd combination. I used my 55-210 zoom to take a landscape shot. Using a higher focal length forced me to really think about how I framed my image, and what elements I wanted to include.

This was taken to showcase the bright flowers in the hillsides. All around, the hills were this beautiful yellow color.

Most of my images are bright. Most of them are colorful. Most of my images focus on the colors. Sometimes, that just doesn’t work. I did 2 versions of this image. One black and white, this one, and the other, directly below this, in my more typical

This image, being identical to the previous, differing only in editing, tells a completely different story. Amazing, right? That’s part of why I love photography so much. I can make one image tell a million stories.
